Financial Well-being Somerset Financial Well-being Project


Somerset Financial Well-being Project is an initiative funded by Somerset County Council which brings together four not-for-profit credit unions operating throughout Somerset and the wider South-West region, and a number of local and national respected charities & community groups. The funding and credit union project partners are:






Together, we are offering free financial well-being information, free community events and free training to anyone who lives or works in Somerset.

This information aims to help anyone who is facing anxiety and stress caused by money worries or who is concerned about their financial future by signposting them to Free, expert help and support.

You can access:

  • FREE information on financial well-being, managing debt, how to reduce any stress or anxiety caused by money worries and how to plan for a better financial future

  • A friendly and professional approach - we are here to help not to judge

  • FREE community events and drop in sessions at locations across the County

  • FREE training events for both residents and employees
You don't have to be a member of a credit union to take advantage of the Somerset Financial Well-being Project but by becoming a member of your local credit union, like Westcountry Savings & Loans you can take advantage of ethical and affordable loans and a great range of savings accounts. We'll be taking part in Abri's upcoming Community Action Day street event for its residents, offering financial wellbeing information, alongside several other organisations focused on cost of living advice and Abri's representatives. More about the event can be found here.

Presentation on financial wellbeing for community workers, together with Mendip Credit Union, at a Mendip Community Volunteer Forum, organised by Spark Somerset.
