An ‘Open Morning’ at the Somerset Independent Living Centre – Wellington

In the past Two Years, due to the Covid pandemic, the Wellington SILC has not been wholly utilised and is yet to reach its full potential. However, we (within Adult Social Care) are now increasing the capacity to see more people each day and wanted to invite members of the local and wider community to visit and meet the SILC Team on Wednesday morning on the 28th of September 2022. Both Somerset Independent Living Centres (SILC) have a range of equipment and technology to help people stay independent, both in the home, and also when out and about. The Wellington Centre will complement our new SILC in Shepton Mallet https://www.somerset.gov.uk/social-care-and-health/equipment-to-help-you/ which you may have also received an invitation to visit.

We would like to invite you to an ‘open morning’ from 10:00am till 1:00pm on the Wednesday 28 September 2022 at the SILC which is located at 17 Knights Road, Chelston Business Park, Wellington, Somerset TA21 9JH . This is accessible for members of the public who visit the SILC.

You will have the opportunity to learn about the service, talk to the team and view the equipment and technology which will be available. You will be a key partner in helping us promote the service across the County, encouraging people to attend to help them live well at home for longer. It is an Occupational Therapy led service that is free for people to attend. Appointments are made by booking an appointment through Somerset Direct on 0300 123 2224.
